If you’ve talked to me in the last week you would know how OBSESSED I am with the Royal Wedding. Borderline ridiculous. I read every article, watched E! news clips, and speculated over the dress with every other person in the world. And yes, I stayed up until 5 am to watch Kate Middleton and Prince William tie the knot. It was more than worth it. Not only was the wedding spectacular, beautiful, and romantic; but a piece of history witnessed only once. And well, no one does a wedding like British Royalty.
Kate Middleton is possibly one of the luckiest girls in the world. Not only is she absolutely beautiful, but she just married a prince, and became the Dutchess of Cambridge. She oozes elegance and grace and looked nothing less than a queen this past friday as she left Westminster Abbey with William on her arm…. but of course, you all know this already.

After months of speculation, the best kept secret in the world was Kate’s choice of dress for her wedding. Many British fashion houses were thought to be designing the gown but in the end Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen (as believed) created a masterpiece fit for a queen. The dress was designed based on Kate’s signature style of low necked, fitted silhouette with a full skirt and lace sleeves.

Complying with Westminster Abby dress code, guests wore their very best. Women came in beautiful hats and colorful dresses, and men wore perfectly tailored morning coats. Some notable guests included David and Victoria Beckham, royals from Spain, Greece, and the Netherlands, Sir Elton John, and of course the Queen, herself.
Kate’s family completed the look perfectly. Her mother, Carole, wore a beautiful blue suit by Catherine Walker. Sister, Pippa, wore a figure-flattering gown by Sarah Burton as the Maid of Honor.
My favorite outfit from the wedding (apart from the bride) was her sister Pippa in that gorgeous, body hugging dress. She looked HOT! Totally my kind of dress! Upon seeing it, I thought it was a little weird to be wearing white next to the bride! But apparently, it’s English custom that the bridal party wear all white. The sleek silhouette showed that Kate wasn’t the only beautiful Middleton.

Beautiful outfits aside, I would like to talk about the hats! The British love their hats… actually, they ROCK their hats! Philip Treacy, the renowned hat designer was the milliner for the big day. Victoria Beckham wore a classicly chic pillbox-styled hat to match her self-designed dress. Treacy, unfortunately, made a few fashion mishaps for Friday. Princess Beatrice wore an over the top, spider-like hat, along with sister Eugenie. Tara Palmer Tomkinson wore a slightly outrageous ensemble by Deborah Milner. In my opinion, she looked like comic book villain, rather than a wedding-attendee.
The Royal Wedding was not only a moment in history, but a moment in fashion history as well. Full of character, color, and classic British elegance; creating inspiration for fashionistas around the world.

Los Angeles. Jacob dan Anna hanyalah sepasang kekasih yang sedang kasmaran kasmarannya ketika mereka baru saja bertemu dan merasakan kasih sayang yang saling mereka curahkan satu sama lain. Tapi apa daya, ketika Anna yang melanggar ketentuan visa pelajarnya terpaksa harus dipulangkan secara paksa ke kampung halamannya, London. Jarak yang jauh.

Realistis. Jarak yang jauh, waktu yang lama, telah mampu mengikis sedikit perasaan mereka untuk saling memberi rasa sayang lagi. Kini, Anna dan Jacob telah sibuk dengan pekerjaannya masing-masing yang bisa dikatakan sukses. Juga, ada sosok pengganti yang kini mereka miliki masing-masing. Bagusnya, alih-alih total untuk bisa melupakan satu sama lain, mereka masih tetap berhubungan, berusaha untuk hanya saling mengirim sms, atau bahkan menelpon. Ya, mereka berperasaan sama. Mereka memutuskan untuk saling bertemu lagi dan menuai kembali rasa sayang yang dulu kuat kini akan terasa kuat kembali. Tapi, masalah pelik seakan tidak ingin pergi. Gatal rasanya untuk tidak membicarakan film yang barusan saya tonton ini. (Well, ya barusan. Setelah nonton film ini saya langsung ngetik post ini). Premisnya memang biasa, sangat biasa. Tapi ada sebuah kerja tim yang hebat untuk berhasil membungkus premis usang itu menjadi sebuah tontonan yang menarik dan tidak membosankan. "Like Crazy" mempunyai banyak elemen yang membuat saya jatuh cinta like crazy pada film drama nano nano ini. Ya, nano nano memang. Berkat dialog-dialog yang mengalir lancar, gaya pengambilan gambar-gambar yang dinamis, editing yang super kreatif, chemistry Jacob dan Anna yang sangat hebat itu teramu menjadi sebuah drama yang beraroma manis juga sekaligus depresif yang sangat pahit sepahit-pahitnya.

Manis. Ketika Jacob memberi Anna sebuah gelang bertuliskan "Patience". Manis itu ketika berkata "Oh hey you, I still love you so much, actually" itu tidak harus selalu diucapkan secara lisan, melainkan cukup hanya saling memandang dalam sebuah bus, senyum tulus pun terukir diwajah masing-masing tanpa disadari. Manis.

Pahit. Ketika mereka tersadar bahwa ada perasaan yang berbeda dari yang dulu mereka rasakan terhadap satu sama lain, dan Jacob berkata, "I just feel weird.." Lebih pahit dan depresif lagi ketika harus ada perasaan orang lain yang ternyata harus dikorbankan. Tapi itu memang realistis. Life is a choice, love includes. Depresif.

Pasang surut hubungan Jacob dan Anna yang diangkat dalam film ini juga banyak mengingatkan saya pada film "Blue Valentine" dan "Chico and Rita" yang penuh dengan kerealistisan akan ketidaksempurnaan hidup dan kasih sayang dua pasang manusia yang ada di dunia ini.

Dari film ini saya memetik pesan bahwa kedewasaan itu tumbuh seiring dengan waktu yang kita jalani dan masalah yang kadang datang menghalangi. Tapi dalam masalah ini (I hate if I have to say "love," ups. I just said it. LOL) masalah itu justru akan hilang dengan sendirinya karena kesabaran kita dalam menjalani waktu yang penuh dengan rintangan ini.

Kesimpulan. Dengan premis yang memang sudah usang, "Like Crazy" mampu tampil beda dari drama-drama sejenis yang tidak terhitung banyaknya. Dengan gaya penangkapan gambar yang dinamis, editing yang kreatif, chemistry yang kuat dari dua pemeran utama ini, "Like Crazy" menjadi sebuah drama yang tidak mudah untuk dilupakan begitu saja. Khususnya bagi saya. Ya paling tidak, ada sepasang cast dengan akting yang berkualitas di dalamnya yang mampu membawa emosi anda terhanyut. That's why I love "Like Crazy" like crazy.

Dropping the L-bomb on someone can be a scary thing. What's the best way to say "I love you" - or is saying it even the right move for you? Get "I love you" advice for every scenario, whether it's your first time saying it or your ten millionth time.

If No One's Said it Yet

If you're in a relationship and you feel like you're in love - even though neither of you have used the L-word yet - then it's time to put your feelings on the line. Plan for an intimate moment when you're alone with each other. Look into your sweetie's eyes and softly, sweetly say the magic words. If you hear them back, lucky you!

If they don't say "I love you, too," it's still okay. You're better off revealing your feelings than hiding them and getting hurt down the line. Besides, just because someone doesn't love you right this instant doesn't mean they won't feel it later on.

If You're Too Shy to Say It
